There’s something very comforting about baking bread at home. The smell filling the kitchen, the warm dough, and that first slice fresh out of the oven, it’s simple, cozy, and special.
Today I’m sharing a soft homemade bread recipe that I made recently, along with a video where you can see the whole process step by step.
This bread is slightly sweet, fluffy on the inside, and perfect for breakfast or afternoon coffee

- 200 ml water
- 20 g yeast
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons milk powder
- 100 ml oil
- 200 g sugar

How to Make the Bread
- In a large bowl, add all the ingredients listed above.
- Mix everything together and knead the dough for about 2 to 3 minutes, until it becomes smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
- After resting, divide the dough into two portions and shape each one by rolling it into a loaf.
- If you like, you can cut small strips on top of the dough to create a decorative pattern.

- For a golden finish, brush the top with a mixture of egg yolk and a little milk (optional).
- Let the dough rest again for 40 to 50 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 30–40 minutes, or until golden brown.

A Cozy Day of Baking Bread, Drawing, and Watching Studio Ghibli
This vlog is a quiet reflection of a slow, creative day, where small moments come together naturally. Throughout the video, you can follow my first attempt at baking homemade bread, from preparing the dough to watching it slowly rise and bake in the oven.
It was a simple process, but very meaningful—especially because it happened alongside other creative activities that are part of my routine. Between steps of the bread, I spent time drawing and painting an illustration inspired by Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service, allowing the day to flow between cooking and art. Later, the vlog continues with my experience attending the Ghibli Fest 2025 screening of Howl’s Moving Castle, a movie that holds a special place in my heart.
To finish the day, I visited a Halloween-themed café dressed as Kiki, turning the outing into a playful and cozy moment that ties together my love for Studio Ghibli, illustration, and everyday experiences. The video captures these moments in a calm, vlog-style format, focusing on atmosphere, process, and the joy found in doing things slowly and intentionally.
Thank you so much for being here and for supporting my creative journey.
I hope you enjoy making this bread as much as I did 🥖💛
see you
